The Zeds album 'Foury Winks' ..... Review by Pete Feenstra
"Unlike many of their contemporaries, The Zeds have soaked up 30 years of rock & roll in its widest configuration and come out of it the other side with their own hybrid, tension filled high energy r&b. Of course the uncommitted listener might just about agree with that until they hear "What's My Name".
This stomping Zeds original is underpinned by the killer Spencer Davis "I'm a Man" riff. And if someone mouths "hang on a minute, I think I know this", you should quietly remind them that this is a real band, with real road credentials, playing it as they feel it.
And Hell, in an age where we are told bands like The Hives are the new thing, The Zeds are a timely reminder of a homebred version of good rocking that on the evidence of this debut album will take some beating."
