Top Bass Player...Graham Wright... The Guv'nors
Formed in 1988 by guitarist/vocalist Robert Hokum, The Guv’nors started out as a Chicago Blues band who allowed themselves to be influenced by psychaedelic funk, acid jazz and Latin grooves. In doing so they have gained a solid reputation as one of the best and original bands on the blues circuit of West London and the Home Counties. They have made several albums, played major festivals, had their recordings played in several radio stations, ‘inflight’ programmes, used on commercials and been sampled for ‘house’ records.
Since 1989, The Guv’nors have been the mainstay and closing act of The Ealing Summer Blues Party (part of the Ealing Festival). On Saturday 24th July 2004 an estimated 20,000 people turned up (London Borough of Ealing figure).
